Statement Of Faith

We hold these truths to be central and essential to our identity as Christians. 

• There is one God who created all things. He is eternally self-existent and He is good.

• He has revealed Himself through the created world, the inspired scriptures of the Bible, human conscience, His Son Jesus Christ, and through His Holy Spirit which inhabits those who believe in Jesus for salvation.

• Jesus Christ was God in human form, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross in our place, was buried and rose from the dead three days later.

• Jesus is the only path to God.  No amount of good works will earn God's pleasure such that He must grant anyone eternal life on that basis. Only the life, sacrifice and resurrection of His own Son will suffice.

• Mankind is born spiritually dead, that is separate from God, and must be born again (made spiritually alive).

• Jesus' death accomplished the complete forgiveness of sin for all mankind.

• God gives His very life, the Holy Spirit, to any and only those who believe in what Jesus accomplished on our behalf through the cross and His bodily resurrection.  This gift of God’s own Spirit is the gift of eternal life.  It is salvation.

• The Bible is God’s revelation to humankind.  It is without error and the standard for understanding and insight into the heart and mind of God.  Furthermore, understanding ancient culture, language, and history are important tools to interpreting, understanding, and applying this ancient text.
